Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Postgraduate Training was founded in 1995 by the Ministry of Health of the Krasnoyarsk State Government and Dean of the Krasnoyarsk State Medical Academy. The head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Professor Antonina Timofeevna Egorova, was awarded with the honorary title “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation”.

Associate Professor, Doctor of Medical Science Marina Ivanovna Bazina was appointed to be the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Institute of Postgraduate Education by the Scientific Council and Dean of Krasnoyarsk State Medical University in 2017.

The goal of the Department for Postgraduate Training was continuous training of highly professional specialists of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Health Care of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the city of Krasnoyarsk.

The professorial staff of the Department consists of ten people at present. There are: Head of the Department, D.Sc., Associate Professor M.I. Bazina; D.Sc., Professor A.T. Egorova; Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, D.Sc., E.A. Shevchenko; Associate Professors: Cand. Sc. (PhD) E.V. Shaposhnikova, Cand. Sc. (PhD) D.A. Maiseenko, Cand. Sc. (PhD) E.J. Kiseleva, Cand. Sc. (PhD) H.V. Zhirova, as well as assistants: Cand. Sc. (PhD) T.A. Shageev, Cand. Sc. (PhD) E.N. Sivova and S.V. Svirskaya.

Students and Doctors in postgraduate training master clinical skills in the Gynecology Departments of Krasnoyarsk Territory budget-funded healthcare institution “Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Hospital No 1”, Krasnoyarsk Territory budget-funded healthcare institution “Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Hospital No 4”, the Department of Gynecology of Krasnoyarsk Territory budget-funded healthcare institution “Krasnoyarsk Territory Clinical Oncology Center named after A.I. Kryzhanovsky”, Krasnoyarsk Territory budget-funded healthcare institution “Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Obstetrics Hospital No 2, and Obstetrics Hospital of Krasnoyarsk Territory budget-funded healthcare institution “Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Clinical Hospital No 20 named after I.S. Berzon”.

The professorial staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Health for doctors in postgraduate education, 2^nd,4^th,5^th and 6^th-year students of Pediatric Faculty and 3^rd-year students of KrasSMU Faculty of Dentistry.

Since 2014, the Department has been providing in-depth training for residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology among students of Pediatric Faculty. They show good theoretical and practical knowledge level at their final assessments. They also represent KrasSMU at various RF scientific conferences and forums.

We constantly renew the Department facilities and improve technological processes in order to train doctors in Obstetrics and Gynecology successfully.

In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, new subject-based training programmes have been developed, including distant education program for Obstetricians and Gynecologists and special training modules for General Practitioners. Training sessions have also been organised in other cities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory such as Achinsk, Lesosibirsk, Kansk, Minusinsk and the Republic of Khakhasia.

The Department participates in scientific research within the framework of the scientific platform of the Krasnoyarsk Territory named “Woman Reproductive Health”.
